Are You A Beauty Hoarder.....

Hi everyone.

I hope you are all well. I have had an unexpected opportunity to write for a local website which I am very excited about so last nights post went out of the window with me getting over excited *as you do* and today I have been a busy bee too. Now I am showered and pampered I thought I would have a little sort out of my beauty room and I was surprised at my findings.....

I have never been a skincare hoarder, show me a blush or a lipstick and I need want them all.

This afternoon I started sorting out what skincare I have and what I should start testing out and reviewing for you guys and I have managed to collect this little lot.....

Now I can imagine this is nothing compared to you beauty-a-holics but for me this was a real eye opener. How have I managed to gather all this, this isn't it all either as I have a little stash in the bathroom too!

Where to start!

Are you a hoarder of certain products, if so what do you love collecting and can't seem to stop buying?

Hey It's OK.....

When I read Glamour magazine I always enjoy reading the section called "Hey It's OK....." a page that makes us all feel better for the silly little things we do, so I thought I would do a beauty version and confess to some things I do and maybe you girls do too, yes I really am doing this......

Hey It's OK.....

.....To highlight underneath your brows so you can get away without plucking for one, OK maybe two, more days.

.....To only shave your legs regularly in the summer months, we all need a bit of extra warmth in the winter right?

.....To only tan parts of your body that will be on show, don't judge me, I am in a long term relationship ;)

.....To sit watching TV picking off mascara, this is not good for your lashes but I somehow do this without noticing!

.....To own a bag full of nail varnish but only paint your nails once a month when you go out somewhere nice.

.....To forget over and over to buy a new razor and continue using your old blunt one instead.

.....To leave it a liiiiiittle bit too long to wash your makeup brushes *slaps wrist*

.....To never file my nails unless you have broken one.

Souce.

.....To apply a great face of makeup just because you are bored at home and you wear it all day without leaving the house.

.....To use dry shampoo more times a week than you wash your hair.

Souce.

I can't believe I wrote them all down! If you are brave enough you are more than welcome to do this type of post too, I would love to read some of your beauty blunders!

Cailyn 2 In 1 Conditioning Mascara.....

Cailyn is a brand I have never ever heard of until I received this mascara, so after a quick Google I found out that Cailyn are a leading cosmetic retailer and wholesaler of innovative, all natural and minerals based makeup products. At the North Meet Up I was given this mascara, I adore testing out new mascaras so I was very excited to try this product out, especially as I had never heard of the brand before.

Cailyn 2 in 1 Conditioning Mascara.

I like that the mascara comes in a box, yes it is slightly pointless but I think it gives it a higher end feel rather than just your regular mascara grabbed from the stand.

Inside the box is a large chunky tube, nice and simple.

"Apply product onto lashes as directed and notice visibly longer, thicker, stronger lashes in just 3-4 weeks. The 2 in 1 Eyelash Conditioning Mascara delivers at the cellular level to feed lashes with nature's most powerful ingredients."

The applicator is a rubber wand which I much prefer to bristle mascara wands, I find them much easier the use and I find the product goes on to my lashes more evenly.

Now, below are pictures of me putting the product to the test, my eye lashes are basically non existent and have a mind of there own (please excuse the crazy brows).....

I applied two coats of the mascara and absolutely love the results, the mascara lengthens my lashes so so much, I have also noticed after using it nearly everyday for a good few weeks now my lashes do look and feel much more conditioned and less are falling out when I am removing makeup.....

This is honestly the best mascara I have ever used, but here comes the downside.....

In the US this mascara retails for $28.00 which is around £18 but here in the UK it is much trickier to get your hands on, Ideal Beauty Products have it on their website for a whopping £30!!! I am so disappointed with this price difference as I would happily pay £18 for it as it is fantastic, but I really feel that £30 is too steep to spend on a mascara.

*SIGHS*

I will enjoy using this product up, and after that I will have to hunt some down from somewhere or hope the brand make it more readily available here in the UK annnnnd at a reasonable price.

Have you heard of Cailyn?

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter.....

I have seen this product being reviewed all over the show so while I was in Superdrug the other day I just had to pick it up to see what all the fuss is about.....

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter RRP £3.00.

This highlighter is very very pretty, I much prefer a powder highlighter to cream highlighter as I have quite oily skin so this is just perfect for me. It has a beautiful swirly pattern to the powder which is very cute.....

This highlighter has quite a silver undertone which I do like but I would have also liked maybe slightly more warmer tones, but for £3.00 I can let MUA off!

It's really hard to photograph but below I have tried to show the finish it gives, a subtle shimmer without being too in your face.....

I really love this product and I will be using it a lot over the summer months!!

What highlighter do you use?

GLAMGLOW Youth-Mud Tinglexfoliate Treatment..........

When I attended the North Meet Up we had a talk from a lovely lady called Natalie who is the founder of Skin Solutions UK- the team that brought us XEN-TAN, Natalie was so friendly and really passionate about her products, one of which is.....

GLAMGLOW Youth-Mud Tinglexfoliate Treatment RRP £24.99 for 15ml or £49.99 for 50ml, you can also buy a sample which is 7ml for £4.99 which is great for testing the product out.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this product, I adore face masks and I really like it when you can feel something happening, but I couldn't help wondering that is this mask really that good looking at the price?

"A serious WOW facial treatment for when you need great skin and a glowing complexion in just 10 minutes.
This performance driven super mask is an absolute must for those who seek the highest quality ingredients and exceptional results, even if you have never used a mask before – GLAMGLOW is unique. It doesn’t just take care of one skin concern, it delivers everything you need for great skin, whatever your skin type."
Sounds amazing right?
So I opened my little sachet and put it onto my clean skin, I immediately noticed how amazing the exfoliating pumice, volcanic rock pieces felt on the skin.....

I applied a even layer over my skin and waited for the magic to happen, I didn't have to wait long at all, after less than a minute I felt a strong tingling sensation which turned into a tightening feeling which I really loved, this lasted quite a few minutes then slowly eased off. I left the mask on for 10 minutes and then I exfoliated my skin in circular motions while rinsing it off.

After rinsing the tightening sensation continued and my skin felt absolutely amazingly soft, I kept stroking my face (with clean hands obviously).

I really really enjoyed using this product, sometimes with face masks I feel they don't really do that much but I could definitely feel and see a difference in my skin!

For me, this is a high end face mask and may be out of some peoples price range but I do think I will purchase a full size version when I have some spare money as I really felt it improved my skin.

Have you heard of GLAMGLOW before?

Washi! Skin Polishing Kit.....

Washi! is a brand I hadn't heard of before and after receiving this Skin Polishing Kit in my North Meet Up goodie bag I was excited to know more about them as I instantly loved the look of the brand.....

Washi! Skin Polishing Kit retails for £6.95,  I instantly noticed how unbelievably soft the cloths are, this I think is due to them being made from pure cotton.

I loved how they were presented, wrapped up in a pink ribbon, little touches like this make me want to purchase more from a brand so I logged onto their website which you can find here and I think they are really reasonably priced.

In the Skin Polishing Kit you receive a Washi! Hot cloth, which you use with your favourite cleanser, this cloth is super soft and has fine fibres to gently cleanse your face and you also get a Washi! Skin polishing towel which is quite large with larger fibres which you use this to dry your face and buff away and dead skin.

I think these are fantastic, I love using them both and I also think they would make a fab little gift, if you buy a set of Hot Cloths from them you can choose from a few different designs of how you would like them packaged making them all the more personal and like I said a great little gift, you can pick up 5 Hot Cloths for £5.95 or 10 for £8.95 - Bargain!

Impress Nails.....

I absolutely hate using nail glue, hate hate hate it.

You know the stuff that sticks your fingers together and is painful to rip off.....it makes me feel sick and I am slightly scared of it HA! But as my nails aren't very long, I like to wear false nails for special occasions or days out etc, I can't have my nails done professionally as my job involves using my hands all the time so when Impress came onto the market I thought they would be perfect for me!

Impress* retail for around £8.99 from high street shops like Boots or Superdrug, the design I have is called TGIF.

They come in a fabulous range of shades and designs so really are great if like me you aren't great at painting your nails or even nail art. Inside the little nail polish bottle container you get 24 nails in a range of shapes and sizes, when you have found the right sizes for your nails you simply removed the plastic backing off the back of the nail and press onto your nail, simple!

They look fabulous and the length is perfect, not to long making them look fake. The one downside is that Impress claim that these can last up to a week which I think is slightly optimistic. The first time I bought Impress was for a wedding and they lasted a good three days but these ones I have used lasted less than a day, you can try to reapply them and press them back on if they are still sticky.....

Do I like Impress nails? Yes I do, even with them claiming they can last up to a week and for me they didn't I think these are fantastic for special occasions or days where you want beautiful nails without any hassle and without using the dreaded nail glue!

Have you tried Impress before?

ILAH Semi Permanent Mineral Brow Travel Kit.....

Today I am reviewing another product I received from the North Meet Up. I am a huge brow grooming fan, well aren't we all, and if you are a regular reader you will know I adore my Benefit Brow Zings so when I received this product I was very excited to try it out.....

ILAH Semi Permanent Mineral Brow Travel Kit RRP £29.99.

"ILAH brows created and designed by Celebrity beauty Artist Tahira Wells.
New ILAH brow travel kit- Designed for the women on the go who needs glamour in a kit.
Colours include - Brown, Black, Light Brown (Suitable for blondes) A lip balm and a brow balm
Use these universal powders on the brows, or the eyes. By applying the balm first to the brow or the brush you can achieved a crayoned look (suitable for those who like pencilled brows)"

First off I just want to say that I am extremely grateful for being able to test this product out but I have to give my honest opinion about the product even though it was gifted to me, with that out of the way here is what the kit looks like inside.....

I am a little bit disappointed with the finishing touches of the palette, if you were paying £29.99 you would expect it to be in perfect condition but as you can see the powders are wonky, my balm was dented and another thing I was disappointed with is the brush that comes with it.....

This brush to me is something I would expect in a MUA palette when you are paying about £4.00 not almost £30.00. Next I noticed the outer packaging was all scratched.....

The kit comes with three different shaped stencils - New York, London and Paris all of which I felt were too thin for my brows so I have applied some of the powder and balm to the back of my hand for you to see the shape of New York, gorgeous shape but my brows are slightly thicker.....

The powders them self are a really nice consistency and have a great pigmentation, I like the concept of a travel brow kit and this is a fabulous size to carry around in your handbag, but my Benefit Brow Zings contains a wax which I much prefer to a balm so unfortunately I wouldn't purchase this product. I am hoping I was unlucky and got a old kit as I hate writing bad reviews but I have always said I will be honest with my readers.
